Profile

My journey as a practitioner and advocate for Tai Chi Chuan and long-distance running is fueled by my unwavering passion for sports and my curiosity about their profound impact on individuals and society.

With a Master of Business Administration from the University of Strathclyde, I bring decades of expertise as an integrated marketer in the information technology industry. However, my other calling lies in the exploration of Tai Chi Chuan as an art, therapeutic exercise, and martial art practice, as well as in fostering a vibrant community centered around learning and passing on the authentic Wu Style Tai Chi Chuan rather than merely for health, wellbeing and socialising.

My foundation of Tai Chi Chuan was built from 2013 at the Wu Style Tai Chi Chuan (Tony Chan) Learning Center in Hong Kong, the official academy authorized by the International Wu Style Tai Chi Chuan Federation. Tony Cheong Lap Chan was one of the top disciples of Ng Tai Kwei as the founder of this learning centre. Under the guidance of esteemed instructors such as Si Bak Choi Lai Biu, Si Suk Chan Pui Wah, Si Hing Charlton Mui, and Si Hing Francis Li, I immersed myself in the intricate movements and philosophy of Tai Chi Chuan. I found not only physical connections with my own body during the practice and right use of energy and forms, but also profound positivity in my wellbeing through diligent practice and guidance from the said experienced teachers directly trained by the Wu family and Tony.

In 2022, I further refined my skills at the Wu's Tai Chi Chuan Academy in Archway, London, under the Chief Instructor Don Spargo. Inspired by the Academy's commitment to authenticity, reverence for Wu's teachings, depth of martial arts teaching, and supportive and inclusive learning environment, I delved deeper into the principles of Tai Chi Chuan and have expanded my practice to include the Sabre form.

The synergies between the Archway Academy and other Wu's Tai Chi Chuan official learning centers worldwide has enriched my learning experience, allowing me to engage with international practitioners (Si Hing and Si Jie) during the retreat camps.

My vision in Tai Chi Chuan extends beyond mere physical activity; I perceive Wu's Tai Chi Chuan as a gateway to self-discovery, personal growth, therapy by Chi and enhanced interpersonal relationships. With my blend of diligence, curiosity, dedication, and self awareness, I am determined to keep learning the Tai Chi Chuan with humbleness and hope to inspire others to learn authentic Wu's Tai Chi Chuan.
